I’m in Columbus this week visiting my family – we just finished a big family dinner. I made a big pot of ratatouille to pile on top of my bunless burger. It was perfect with the fresh green beans, grilled sweet corn, garden salad, and deviled eggs – which were made by my 96 year old Grandma Ruth.
Ruthie just retired a few weeks ago. She’s been cooking 3 meals a day for 8 ladies that live in a group home. She finally decided it was time to take it easy. No need to wonder where my love of food came from, huh?
It’s good to be home. I only have 48 more hours here and I could blog – or I could spend time with my Mom, sisters, niece, and Grandma. I’m choosing the latter and keeping today’s post short.
I hope to get a post up for Wednesday but if not know that it’s not because I don’t adore you and have nothing to share. Instead, I’m with my family whom I only see a few times a year. Time with them is so precious.

Glad you chose to spend time with your family instead of blogging:)
I’ve linked to a recipe for a yummy avocado sauce over raw vegan zucchini noodles. I’ve got a giveaway for a brand new gluten-free cookbook going on this week too, so stop by my blog to enter if you get a chance!

Do the recipes need to be sugar/gluten-free? I don’t want to bend the rules

@Barb @ 1SentenceDiary, Please link up!! You can submit anything as long as it’s healthier in some way. You decide what healthier means. That’s different for everyone. The idea is that we can inspire each other with our recipes and that good food is good food. End of story.

I posted my gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free blue raspberry pie (the filling is both raspberries and blueberries). It is sooooo good! I especially love the crumble topping and filling…and the crust is good too. The pie is also lower in un-refined sugar—and could be lessened even more I think. The crust has lots of protein in it too. This is one pie you can feel good about eating!
