Another Slightly Indulgent Tuesday – a celebration of fabulous food made healthier!
I hope your taxes are done and you’ve had ample time in the kitchen. Ours have been done for weeks – thank goodness! It seems, though, that there’s never enough time in to cook. Lately I’ve spent more time practicing precision cuts than cooking. My practical exam is Wednesday night so please think good thoughts!
Last Week’s Healthier Highlights
If I could pick up the phone and place an order, I’d have garlicky green soup followed by a bowl ‘o berries and a hint-o-chocolate banana muffin.
My Submission
I’ve got a time-saving, illustrated tutorial on how to make garlic paste. This is a perfect prep food to keep in your freezer for busy nights.
More Spring Cleaning….
This week Donielle at Naturally Knocked Up is talking about Getting the Sugar Out. See what she has to say about sugar and while you’re there, link up a related recipe or article. Katie at Kitchen Stewardship also has some ‘sugar’ for thought.
If you haven’t heard of this fun series yet, read this post.
Linking Up Guidelines!!
- When you link, please tell us who you are and what you’re cooking. For example, I would enter:
Amy @ Simply Sugar & Gluten Free – (Garlic Paste – Quick & Simple) - Please link to your individual post, not your homepage and link back to this post so that your readers can find the recipes here.
I hate deleting links but some get deleted every week.
If you find that your link has been deleted it’s because it doesn’t link to your post or you haven’t linked back here. E-mail me with questions or if you need help.

The coating for the Honey Nut Coated Chicken is really good and I baked it rather than fry it.

Amy, when I posted the chicken recipe, it didn’t show up so I posted it again. If it shows up twice, please delete one of them.
Thanks.
Good luck with everything, busy lady.

This week it’s strawberries and custard! The custard is dairy-free and made with coconut milk. It’s also sugar-free (something that I couldn’t squeeze in the 80-character limit).
Best of luck on your exam, Amy!

Amy! Looks like you are learning a great many things at school. I loved the look of your carrot slaw. They were all perfect and beautiful little cuts.
If you ever have the time to do a step by step tutorial on how to cut those (batonettes?) I would love to learn, The dimensions don’t quite make sense to me…What can I say I am a visual person!
Thanks for your reply to my ponderings last week. It really gave me a new perspective and a fresh outlook on life at home with the kids. I’ve been slowing down and enjoying them more. And you can tell because my house is a DISASTER! But all will be clean in its own time.
Take Care! X

@Chelsey, Yes, some day I’ll do a tutorial just for you on precision cutting. If you’re anything like me it will drive you batty. You can be off by 1/16 of an inch and have it be wrong. But, it’s a challenge and I enjoy that.
Glad you’re having fun with the kids! You’re welcome…thanks for listening. It’s always good to have a friend on the other end of an e-mail. Hugs to you.
