What a lucky guy Joe is. That meal sounds fabulous!! And those potatoes look amazing. I, too, just love that combo of Gruyere and WHite Cheddar.
I love how you said you were even dressed WITH makeup on. LOL From another work-from-home gal, i totally get what a big deal that is! hehe
I hope you and Joe had a wonderful evening! Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us! ;)

How sweet! :) I agree with Kim, your husband sure is one lucky guy. I’ve been keen to see your pie crust recipe since I saw the pictures on Flickr and am now even more excited to check it out. Can’t wait for your cookbook!

This is so sweet Amy! Don’t feel bad about the pictures – it is his day, can’t make the man wait on his bday! Looks like a great meal!

What a wonderful scalloped potato recipe and birthday menu, Amy. Also, what a sweetheart you are and how lucky Joe is too. All of these dishes are comfort food at its best. I love the way you made these scalloped potatoes special with the gruyere and cheddar.

That sounds like such a beautiful celebration (and what a menu!) Happy belated birthday to Joe–and I bet he appreciated how much trouble you went to on his behalf! Lucky guy. :D

Wow, I want THAT meal for my birthday dinner too! It’s too late now, but maybe next year? Joe is a lucky guy. I can imagine how exhausted you were the evening, but you put such an effort into making his day special. The love the two of you have between each other is awesome. :) And these potatoes? Yum! I love scalloped potatoes.
