This is beautiful, Amy! So happy for you and your sweet family. I am not an especially “maternal” person myself but reading this post and seeing the photos really warmed my heart and made me feel something of what it’s like to be a “skin-mom” (I have three cats and have fostered many others so could relate a bit to your meltdown description :-D ) Congrats you guys!

Congratulations, Amy! You are wise to cherish every moment. As a mom of 8 (ages 21-6) I can attest that the days pass slowly, but the years pass quickly. Savor every second and keep investing in these little lives. The hugs, relationships built, and moments shared become even more precious year after year. There is no greater joy, and no more important work.

@Kim, I would have 8 kids if I could. I’ve actually found myself wanting to be pregnant again. Now. Most people call it crazy but I have this natural desire for more kids. I guess you get that. :) I think we’re done, though. At least for today. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience with me. Your kids are lucky to have you.

I also found it challenging to go from 1 to 2 children but I ahve heard other moms say that going from 2 to 3 or more is not as difficult! Enjoy every moment and congrats!

Congratulations Amy! You are so blessed. What a beautiful family.
I agree wholeheartedly with you about natural birth. My first was an emergency caesarian . It took me at least 6 weeks to heal. My younger two were born by natural birth. No comparison! I was up and about within days. Had a few stitches but those healed within a week.
Love the picture of you with your two boys. Treasure every moment! It goes by in the blink of an eye. My youngest is 28 but he’s still my baby :-)
    Blessings

@Laureen Fox, Yep, it’s amazing how the body can give birth naturally and everything is just fine afterward. Aren’t they always our babies?? xo

Well done, Amy! Congratulations on another healthy, beautiful boy. You are such a good, loving mother that Nate will soon come to understand that loves grows as much as it needs to so that everyone gets their share – and Mums have two knees – one for each boy! Enjoy your precious moments alone, few though they’ll be, they’re so precious:) x

@christine, What sage advice! My most recent challenge is keeping Nate from squashing Luke while they’re both on my lap. He just wants to be close to me and his little brother. :)

Congratulations Amy & Hubby ;) Well and Nate too for that matter.. You have two beautiful boys there. I had my first two born 18 months apart and really it’s like having twins except one can run around :D It’s a hard adjustment for sure. Just be patient with yourself and with little Nate. It takes time for little ones to adjust to changes. Also! You should be very proud of yourself! Natural childbirth is very empowering. Women need to dig deep and know they were gifted with this ability to birth babies. God made us so wonderfully and we need to put a little more trust in that fact. ;) God Bless you and that precious growing family of yours!

Hey Amy! I know this is obviously a late congrats (so sorry!) but wow, two precious little boys…..that is just so cool.

Ever since the Google Reader went down, it’s been harder for me to find a way to keep in steady checking in (I gotta find another gadget like the G R!)

The quinoa pudding you recently did….yummmy! I need to try that out! :-)

Blesssings on you and your precious family!
