Yes, it’s true. I signed on the dotted line. I’m going to be a published sugar-free, gluten-free author.
This has been a dream of mine since I was in high school.
I’ve been dying to tell you…I’ve known for months and just got the “ok” from my publisher to spill the beans.
I owe this to you for letting me be a part of your life. If you didn’t read SS&GF, try my recipes, and share with me this never would have happened. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for how you’ve helped change my life.
And, of course, Joe’s undying love, support, and insistence that I follow my dreams has helped them all come true.
A year ago, I quit a job that didn’t feed my soul and started blogging. I thought all doors for culinary school were closed but by coincidence a very open minded and progressive woman heard my story and welcomed me with open arms into their Culinary Arts program. I went back to school.
And, because of your help, I’m getting ready to go to NYC for The Fancy Food Show where I’ll be featuring my favorite gluten-free food vendors on FoodSpring.com. To have the opportunity to give back to the gluten-free community in this way is overwhelmingly incredible.
In a little over a year everything has changed in a very good way. I have you and Joe, the love of my life, to thank.
Book Details – 20 Minutes or Less
The book will be filled with quick and simple gluten-free, sugar-free cooking – all prepared in 20 minutes or less. Meals, side dishes, desserts (of course!), snacks…I’m cooking up a little bit of everything SS&GF style.
I fell in love with my publisher, Ulysses Press, when I first talked with them. The acquisitions editor contacted me in January about writing a book based on my blog. Within two minutes, I’d figured out that he loves green smoothies as much as I do. They’re incredibly progressive and have been a joy to work with.
Ulysses is one of the fastest growing small publishing houses in the US. They’ve published great titles, including:
- The 100 Best Vegan Baking Recipes
by Kris Holechek
- Sugar-Free Gluten-Free Baking and Desserts
by Kelly E. Keough
- The I Love Trader Joe’s Cookbook
by Cherie Twoey
They’re working on the cover as I type. And, soon enough, my book will be available for pre-orders. The target release date is January 2011. I’ll keep you updated.
Again, I can’t thank you enough.
Sending big hugs,

Lauren
