@Amy, My Mum showed me her belly recently - now 18 years since there was any baby in there. The stretch marks are all but invisible now (we both had huge angry red ones) and the skin is mostly back to "normal." Genetics are supposed to be the best way of finding out what your body will do, it was a good bonding experience for me and my Mum to share something so intimate, do you know how your Mom fared?

A tip she shared with me is that she started to work out with a hula hoop recently (make sure it is the right size - to your waist when sideways) and finally got her stomach muscles to meet in the middle again, and lost inches off her waist and hips.

@Kisha, I am using organic formula too. When it comes to formula there is so much to think about. The organic formula has some sugar but there are no harmful chemicals and pesticides. The non-organic has no sugar but it's not organic. I opted for organic and pray daily for God to fill in the gaps. He gets some breast milk - my lactation consultant said 4 ounces a day is like an anitbiotic pill. I think he's getting that.

@Tessa Domestic Diva, I have had doubts that my body will ever be exactly the same. In fact, if I never fit into my old jeans I'm ok with that. But, I would like to look fit again. So, that's my goal. I agree - grace and dignity are key!

No one wishes to be frumpy, that is for sure! After one child, I had no problem getting back to almost normal....after the third things that have been stretched too many times won't go completely back...without surgery of course! So no, I am not resigning myself to frumpy, but i am trying hard to accept my altered body with grace (sometimes not so well!)

@Amy, Awe that stinks. I had that happen with my fist baby, well I just quit making milk all of a sudden, turns out it was PCOS and my hormones all out of whack. I ended up giving him organic baby formula. However, it's not the end of the world. I do understand how heartbreaking it is, but there are so many ways to love and bond with a child. You mentioned that you wear him, and that is one of the best ways to connect and encourage growth. Plus hey, it helps to strengthen and burn calories.
