@Sheri, Stir in the fruit afterward. You can add some honey, though, before it goes through the fermentation process.

If you've never made homemade yogurt, you're in for a treat. I'm going to make some later today. It's my favorite.

Hugs,
Amy

How do you go from plain yogurt to fruit-flavored? Add fruit before it "sets up" or after? Or use jelly? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

@TrinaC, Thanks for sharing such a simple method! I love it. I'm always looking for short-cuts that still produce fantastic results, Trina. This sounds like a winner.

Hugs,
Amy

I know I'm kind of late on this post, but I thought I should share a method my sister-in-law shared with me. You can put your yogurt starter in the bottom of a thermos (I used a 1/2 gallon sized thermos) and then add a little of the warm milk and stir. I then put the rest of the milk in, stir it again and put the lid on it. I let it sit undisturbed for at least 8 hours. Turns out great every time.

@Zoe @ Z's Cup of Tea,

GI ProHealth's "ProStart" is a great SCD-legal yogurt starter. Have been using it for almost 2 years (along with raw goat milk I get from a local farm). I use the YoLife yogurt maker, with various sizes of glass containers they offer (the 2 qt. is my favorite).

Having to make my step-son's SCD-legal meals (breakfast, lunch and snack) for school has been challenging but the yogurt is always a hit with him and helps disguise the myriad of supplements he has to take.
