Go Ahead Honey, It’s Gluten-Free Guiltless Pleasures!

Posted on February 28, 2010

Yes, it’s time to start thinking about everyone’s favorite monthly gluten-free round up.  This month’s edition is hosted right here with the theme of Guiltless Pleasures.

When Naomi, author of Straight Into Bed Cakefree & Dried and GAHIGF’s founder, and I were corresponding about this month’s theme, we both felt strongly that people need to know that eating healthy can taste great.

Hence the birth of this month’s theme – Guiltless Pleasures.  You might also know it a Slightly Indulgent Tuesday dish.  Make an old standby a little healthier or come up with something completley new.

It doesn’t hurt that summer is right around the corner, either.  Before we know it, turtlenecks and down jackets will be a distant memory.  Skirt and short season is right around the corner.  No better time than now to starting thinking about slimming down the food.

I’d love to have a record number of submissions this month.  All types of bloggers are welcome to participate – your blog does not have to be gluten-free though the dish you submit needs to be a guiltless gluten-free pleasure.

February’s Round Up is posted at Without Adornment. Stop by and take a trip through the Caribbean with the lovely Bean!

Submitting Your Recipe

  • Make sure to indicate on your post that the recipe if for Go Ahead Honey, It’s Gluten-Free’s March Round-Up.  Link here to share the information with your readers.  We’ll get the message out faster that way.
  • Send your recipe link ON OR BEFORE March 26th to amy2804 (at) gmail dot com
  • Include a picture. (I don’t know what I was thinking…I don’t need the recipe.)
  • Subject line needs to say:  Go Ahead Honey!

The round-up will go live on Thursday, April 1st.  I’ll send an e-mail to all of the creative, guiltless cooks to let them know they can browse the other submissions.

A huge THANK YOU to Naomi for keeping this event going.  It’s a wonderful way to get to know other bloggers and learn more about one of our favorite things – good, homemade gluten free food.

Stovetop Pasta Marinara with Broccoli and Chickpeas

Stovetop Pasta Marnina with Chickpeas & Broccoli

Another new cookbook arrived from Paperback Swap a few weeks ago – The Best Vegetarian Recipes authored by my long time favorite, Martha Rose Shulman.  Studying the recipes during stolen moments led me to craving a richly flavored stew of  swiss chard, chickpeas, leeks, and fennel. With just 15 minutes to make a grocery stop, [...]

Line a Cake Pan the No Fuss Way

Line a Pan the No-Fuss Way_6

Our beloved gluten-free, sugar-free batters are sticky and temperamental.  One way to manage them is lining pans with parchment paper.  A simple enough solution until you find yourself tracing, cutting, and trimming to get a silly piece of paper in the bottom of your pan. Quick and simple kitchen short cuts are always at the [...]
